Eastridge Holiday Giving

Eastridge Blog posted by Molly Delattre on

Eastridge wouldn’t be the tight-knit community it is today without the generous spirit of those who work here. With the help of some wonderful charitable organizations, our various Eastridge locations are spreading holiday cheer to the local community this holiday season.

San Diego, CA

Our Mission Valley office along with our Carlsbad, Kearny Mesa and Mira Mesa locations chose to give back to Adopt a Family with SAY San Diego. This entailed hosting a gift drive for families in our local community that could use a little help in providing some holiday cheer. We adopted three families, including:

  1. A single mother who is a domestic violence survivor with four young children ranging the ages of 9-14.
  2. A single mother caring for two children and her father with a minimum wage job.
  3. A single mother working two jobs to have enough money to pay for food and bills. She is currently going to school to help her get a better paying job and also has 4 young children.

The number of gifts Eastridge put together for these families was truly amazing! We gathered about 80 gifts for the three families and could not have done it without the help of our employees. Those who donated helped fund the wish lists of adults and their children in need. We’re honored to have made their holiday season brighter.

San Diego Giving

Las Vegas, NV

Our Las Vegas teams adopted a family of 11 for the holidays, having been introduced as a high-priority family by the Department of Family Services. For the past few months, the DFS has been hard at work to ensure this loving and tight-knit family receives better housing, basic household items and clothing.

With some group effort and help from Eastridge clients, our Las Vegas teams raised over $1,500 in cash and received donations that included furniture, clothes, bedding and toys. The monetary donations will go towards buying the family two sets of bunk beds, mattresses, extra bedding, a couch, and a dining table. One of the children, who is blind, will also receive games and books in braille. The number of donations received was really inspiring to witness.

On December 22nd, there will be a gift wrapping party prior to our employees personally delivering the donations to the family’s new home. Cheers to making the holidays a happier time for such a deserving family.

Orange County, CA

At our Newport Beach office, two of our employees and their families took the initiative to give back this holiday season. Our Eastridge family is so fortunate to have these generous individuals!

Jonathan Uribe and his wife Jessica sponsored an under-privileged family through the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center (OCCAPC) Program, Families Helping Families. Through their generosity, the Uribe’s directly helped one of 300 local families in need this holiday season.

Another one of our Newport employees and her family made a huge difference with the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center this year. Kim Tran Trotter and her husband Scott Trotter, who is the Executive Director of the OCCAPC, sponsored two families. Not only that, but they also volunteered to be ‘reindeer’ and helped deliver donated gifts to the families.

Our Orange County locations also made a collective effort for The Salvation Army Heart for Others toy drive. The Salvation Army runs several different donation programs for the needy throughout the year, but this was especially for the Holiday season. Our employees donated over 30 gifts and we also had two volunteers personally deliver them to The Salvation Army.

Happy Holidays!

Eastridge is thrilled to carry the spirit of giving into the new year with our recently announced 2017 charity organization, Make-A-Wish San Diego! We’re honored to lend a hand in helping dreams come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Make a Wish

All of us here at Eastridge wish you a bright holiday season and a very happy New Year, cheers!
