Eastridge’s Manufacturing & Distribution Division in Mira Mesa hosted a job shadow event on May 26th.
In partnership with Junior Achievement, the Mira Mesa team provided an inside look into the day-to-day responsibilities of a Manufacturing professional to 25 local high school students.
The students learned about the manufacturing industry in San Diego and received hands-on experience with a mock-assembly line. Additionally, the students learned about “personal branding” and the importance of social media for one’s career from Eastridge’s Director of HR, Sarah Canfield, and Operations Supervisor, Kelsie Soriano.
Since 1950, Junior Achievement (JA) of San Diego County has provided life-changing programs to more than 730,000 youth—in the classroom and after school—to foster an understanding of how the “real world” works. To ensure youth are prepared for their future, JA teaches them how to get a job, start a business and how to manage money.
